Baseball was just an exhibition sport at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California in 1984 but the U.S. team was a star studded squad of future Major League players, many of whom would soon become household names. This official Game Ball from the Games of the XXIII Olympiad is signed in blue ball point pen by 20 of the U.S. teams’ participants including: Mark McGwire, Odibe McDowell, Bobby Witt, Will Clark, B.J. Surhoff, Cory Snider, Shane Mack, Bill Swift and Hall of Famer Barry Larkin as well as manager Rod Dedeaux. Other signatures include: Flavio Alfaro, John Hoover, Sid Akins, Bob Caffrey, Pat Pacillo, Don August, Mike Dunne, Gary Green, John Marzano and Scott Bankhead. All of the signatures remain perfectly legible and the red and blue stitched ball contains a 1980 L.A. Olympic Committee logo on its side panel and has been marked with an invisible DNA daub that will fluoresce under a patented laser lamp. Comes with PSA/DNA LOA #UO5920.
