Hall of Fame hurler Waite Hoyt made his big league debut with the New York Giants in 1918 and was the winningest pitcher for the New York Yankees in the 1920's; playing for six American League champions and three World Series winners from 1921-1928. He enjoyed his best season in 1927, leading the American League with 22 wins against just seven losses. Although he won 237 games over his 21-year career he may be best remembered as a friend, teammate and eloquent authority on Babe Ruth: "I've seen them; kids, men, women, worshippers all, hoping to get his name on a torn dirty piece of paper, or hoping for a grunt of recognition when they said ‘Hi-ya, Babe.’ He never let them down, not once. He was the greatest crowd pleaser of them all.” said Hoyt who was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1969. Hoyt signed this Rawlings Official Charles S. Feeney National League ball in green ballpoint pen on the sweet spot. The solid signature rates a 9 and the off-white ball remains in excellent condition and comes with JSA LOA certification #X04339.
