Forever linked and celebrated in New York City baseball lore and song, Willie, Mickey and the Duke belong to a bygone time when the National League’s New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers vied for position in the hearts of the city’s baseball fans and hoped to meet the Yankees in a Subway Series. This set of three spectacular wall hangings includes a 26” x 20” full color print of a Robert Stephen Simon painting of the trio against a montage backdrop of Yankee Stadium, the Polo Grounds and Ebbets Field. All three players signed the print in bold blue Sharpie with Mantle adding a “#7” inscription. The second piece is a 22” x 26” press-board mounted full-color Ron Lewis drawing of the three sluggers standing together around home plate with bats propped on their shoulders. Again all three have signed the print on bold blue Sharpie. And finally a 28” x 20” black and white photo promotional poster for Terry Cashman’s “Willie, Mickey and the Duke” (Talkin’ Baseball) song of the trio walking in from the outfield together for an Old-Timer’s Day celebration at Shea Stadium in the early 1970s, again all three have signed the poster in bold blue Sharpie. Set of three comes with JSA LOA.
