Vernon Luis Gomez, more popularly known as “Lefty” and sometimes “Goofy” pitched 14 years for the New York Yankees winning five World Series with the great “Dynasty” teams of the 1930's. Gomez topped the 20 victory mark four times and led the American League in wins in 1934 and 1937. He captured the pitchers Triple Crown in 1934 with 26 wins and a 2.33 ERA and 158 strikeouts in 281 innings with 25 complete games. He was elected to the Hall of Fame by its Veteran’s Committee in 1972. Gomez put his southpaw’s signature to this Rawlings Official Bobby Brown American League ball in strong blue ballpoint pen, rating: 10, with an “H.O.F. 72” inscription. This clean white ball has been kept in a plastic bag inside a plastic cube, so it still looks brand new and comes with a full JSA LOA Certification number X40690.
