As one of the most popular and respected Major Leaguers of all-time, Roberto Clemente's signature is among the most sought after in the hobby. As Puerto Rico's first superstar ballplayer, Clemente blazed a new path for Latino ballplayers and his legacy is still felt to this very day. His untimely death in 1972 while bringing supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua meant that not only did the sport lose one of its greatest players, but also that there will always be a very limited supply of his coveted signatures. As such, even the most ragged scrap of paper bearing his beautifully swirling flourish of a signature, commands instant respect from collectors. Now a single signed Clemente baseball, that's a whole different ballgame! This Mel Stottlemyre Special League baseball was signed by Clemente in blue ballpoint pen on its side panel.
