11-year New York Yankees hurler Mel Stottlemyre made the second of his five All-Star Game appearances in 1966 pitching two scoreless innings in the American League’s 2-1 loss to the senior circuit at Busch Stadium in St. Louis on July 12. Stottlemyre did not get to bat during the game and consequently did not use this 34.5-inch, 33.9-ounce Hillerich and Bradsby Louisville Slugger model K55 bat which reveals no evidence of game use but is signed by Stottlemyre in bold blue Sharpie with an “All Star Game 1966” inscription between the label and the All Star Game Stottlemyre 1966 Saint Louis branding on the barrel; comes with PSA/DNA LOA certification # 1B08435.
