Towards the end of his spectacular 22-year career, Hall of Famer Willie Mays used this 35-inch, 35.7-ounce, Hillerich and Bradsby S2 model flame burned finish Ash bat. This un-cracked bat is consistent with Mays’ Professional Bat Ordering Records on file at Louisville Slugger incorporated throughout the (1969-1972) labeling period and shows evidence of moderate game use with ball marks, black and blue ink transfers and red bat rack tracks on the barrel. A light coat of pine tar remains on the lower end of the handle with a heavier amount higher up towards the label. Mays signed the bat in bold blue Sharpie between the label and barrel branding with his name MAYS in block letters and his number 24 is written in slightly fading black marker on the knob; comes with PSA/DNA LOA certification #1B05055 and Letter of Grading and Authenticity for the bat rating GU8 and LOA signed by Mays.
