One of a handful of players beloved by both New York Mets and Yankees fans, Mel Stottlemyre enjoyed lengthy successful runs as pitching coach for both teams and participated in numerous Old Timers Days and other such celebrations for both organizations. Stottlemyre wore this number 30 (Nolan Ryan’s old number with the Mets) New York Mets home white and blue pinstriped home jersey for the team’s “1962 Nostalgia Game” and signed the left front tail in bold blue Sharpie with a “Game Used Aug. 30 1992 1962 Nostalgia Game” inscription just above a “1962 Nostalgia Game Aug. 30, 1992 Stottlemyre” strip tag and Rawlings size-46 manufacturers label. Button-down jersey has Stottlemyre’s number 30 in blue and orange tackle twill in the back and the Mets cursive logo on the front in the same fashion with a N.Y. Mets New York Skyline logo patch on the left sleeve and shows good game day use with some dirt stains on the left front panel and back. Signature is PSA/DNA pre-certified and jersey comes with LOAs from Mel Stottlemyre and noted sports jersey expert Dave Miedema.
