With a starting rotation that included Andy Pettitte, David Wells, David Cone, Hideki Irabu and Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez, Pitching Coach Mel Stottlemyre helped guide the New York Yankees to its second World Series title in three years. Stottlemyre signed this game worn 1998 button-down gray road jersey with a “Game Used” and “1998 World Series” inscriptions on the 3 in his number 34 which is applied in navy blue tackle twill on the back. New York is stitched in navy and white tackle twill on the front and an “MLB 1998 World Series” patch adorns the right sleeve. Both sleeves are ringed in elastic navy and white piping. Russell Athletic/Diamond Collection manufacturers label with “100% Polyester” flag tag and “Stottlemyre 99” strip tag are attached to the left front tail. Jersey has been PSA/DNA pre-certified and comes with LOAs from Mel Stottlemyre and noted sports jersey expert Dave Miedema.
