The 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers captured the National League pennant for the third time in six years only to be defeated by the cross-town rival New York Yankees in the World Series all three times. A powerful Dodgers’ batting order was led by first baseman Gil Hodges who hit 32 home runs with 102 RBI and catcher Roy Campanella who knocked 22 long balls and drove in 97 runs. Centerfielder Duke Snider hit 21 home runs with 92 RBI and hit .303 average and second baseman Jackie Robinson connected for 19 home runs with 75 RBI and a .308 average. Shortstop Pee Wee Reese led the team with 30 stolen bases and outfielder Andy Pafko contributed 19 home runs with 85 RBI at a .287 clip. Reliever Joe Black led all Dodgers hurlers with a 15-4 record while Carl Erskine, Billy Loes, Ben Wade and Preacher Rowe all won in double figures under manager Chuck Dressen. This Spalding Official Warren Giles National League Ball carries 22 signatures from the Dodgers 1952 team including manager Dressen on the sweet spot and Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson just under Dressen at the top of a side panel. Other notable stars like; Gil Hodges, Joe Black, Ralph Branca, Andy Pafko, Joe Landrum, George Pfister, Rocky Bridges, Clyde King, Dick Williams, Tommy Holmes, Billy Cox, George Shuba, Billy Loes, Preacher Roe, Johnny Rutherford, with clubhouse signatures for Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Carl Furillo and Carl Erskine. All signatures are clearly legible in blue ballpoint pen and caramel colored ball has a lacquer finish; comes with JSA LOA.
