This Rawlings Official Lee MacPhail American League ball carries 23 signatures of former New York Yankees players including Hall of Famers, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, Enos Slaughter and Rickey Henderson. As well as Don Larsen, Charlie Keller, Spud Chandler, Bill Skowron, Eddie Lopat, Hank Bauer, Johnny Blanchard, Hector Lopez, and nine others. DiMaggio’s signature is in slightly fading black ball point pen (“7”) and he shares the sweet spot with Chandler. Mantle’s signature is also in black ballpoint pen and is one of the strongest (“9”) on the opposite sweet spot over the faded official labeling. Ford’s is also in strong black ink (“8”). Berra’s is more conspicuous in fading black in at the top of one of the side panels (“5-6”). Rickey Henderson’s appears to have been added more recently and also in strong black ballpoint pen (“8-9”) and Slaughter’s is also clearly legible in black ink (“8-9”) on top of a side panel by the seams. Larsen’s signature (“9”) also stands out among the rest. Slightly caramelized off-white ball comes with JSA LOA certification #X44542.
