Ted Williams was manager of the Washington Senators from 1969-1971, and then served as manager for the 1972 Texas Rangers after the Senators moved to the Lone Star state. This white button down jersey has “Senators” scripted across the chest with the “Wilson 46” tag in the collar with white strip tag with “72” below. The back has his name “WILLIAMS” across the back with number “9” below. Two “Ted Williams” signatures appear, one on the front and one on the back. The Senators were not an entity in 1972, not in spring training, not ever, and this jersey could not have been worn by Williams in any official capacity. Full LOA from JSA, cert number Y38142.
