In the 1979 NCAA basketball tournament, Larry Bird’s Indiana State Sycamores and Magic Johnson’s Michigan State Spartans met for the college basketball title, with Magic leading his team to the National Championship. During the road to the finals, both teams had to muster their way through tough Regionals. Offered is a basketball used in the 1979 Midwest Regional tournament which Indiana State played alongside power schools Louisville, Arkansas and Oklahoma. This “Spalding Top Flite 100” ball contains bold, silver Sharpie signatures of “Larry Bird” and “Magic Johnson” who also added “1979 NCAA CHAMPS.” There are silver holograms affixed to the ball, one which is from “Schwartz Sports Authentic” with their COA and affiliated number A132622. LOA from Kim Wolter dated June 25, 2007 for the ball’s authentication. Tremendous signed item form two of basketball’s living legends, applied to an extremely rare game used basketball form a tournament which made both players household names.
