Les Moss was a former major league catcher who played for four teams, most notably the old St. Louis Browns. He also managed the Detroit Tigers for the beginning of the 1979 season, before Sparky Anderson became available. From 1982 through 1989, Moss was the pitching coach for the Houston Astros, including their great 1986 run to the NLCS. This road rainbow style pullover jersey features “Astros” across the front with the Lone Star below. The back shows remnants where the name plate (and name) used to be, but this jersey was recycled to the minors and this nameplate was removed, leading to a small run on the upper back. The number “55” is all original. The left front tail has the “W.A. Goodman & Sons 48” manufacturers’ size tag. Nice wear is evident with some toning, and a few spots of tobacco juice. A fun jersey which includes the rainbow shoulder stripes. LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
