Jim Coates was a pitcher for the famed 1961 New York Yankees wining two World Series championships with the Bombers before finishing up his career with the California Angels. This button down gray road jersey was worn by Coates during the 1966 season, when he went 1-1 with a sub-4.00 ERA. Across the front is “ANGELS” in blue on red felt. The lower front tail has a white strip tag with “Coates” in green thread with the “Tim McAuliffe” manufacturers tag with attached “66” year tag and “44” size tag. The back has the number “56” but there are indications of a number change from 46 to 56. Excellent condition with moderate wear overall on this very attractive mid-60’s gamer. LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
