Three-time National League MVP and nine-time All Star “Phat Albert” Pujols used this MLB Authentic (#EK 323972) 34-inch white and black, natural finish Maple Marucci Bone Rubbed bat during the his first year with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2012 when he hit 30 home runs with 105 RBI and a .285 average. Bat is cracked at the handle where a dense coat of Mota Stick covers its mid-section. Pujols signed the bat in bold gold sharpie with a “Game Used ‘12” inscription on the cupped-end, barrel near the “Handcrafted For Albert Pujols (facsimile signature) AP5-LDM Custom Cut” gold-leaf engraving. A mark on the handle identifying the face grain of the bat is mandatory per Major League Baseball’s rules for all Maple bats since January 2009. Bat shows good game use with ball marks, stitch impressions, cleat marks and bat rack markings along the barrel. The “08/20/12” date of manufacture and Pujols’ number “5” are branded into the knob with “4” and “2*” length and weight specifications; comes with PSA/DNA Letter of Grading and Authenticity Certification # 1B04260, PSA GU-9.
