In his first game with the New York Yankees, Randy the “Big Unit” Johnson did not disappoint giving up one run on five hits with six strikeouts in six innings as the Yankees defeated the Red Sox 9-2 on an April 3, 2005 Opening Day at The Stadium. Johnson signed this 24” x 6” official Major League pitching rubber in bold black Sharpie with a “First N.Y. Win” inscription on its top side. Rubber shows heavy game use with a crisscross pattern of Johnson and opposing starter Red Sox David Wells’ and others cleat marks (eight other hurlers also pitched that day) across the top and is surrounded with dirt as one might expect. It comes with Steiner Sports Memorabilia LOA and COA for the signature. MLB Authentication #MT00091620
