Among the most electric and exciting players of his time (the late 1980's and early 1990's), 10-time All-Star, six-time Gold Glove Award winner and 1989 Batting Champion (.339). The late-great Kirby Puckett played all 12 of his big league seasons with the Minnesota Twins, establishing himself as one of the most popular players in franchise history. His 2,304 hits are the most in the team’s franchise history with the exception of Sam Rice who compiled 2,987 with the franchise’s Washington Senators historic ancestor. Puckett signed this pristine Gene A. Budig Rawlings Official American League limited edition (555/1000) ball with an “HOF 2001” inscription and added his career stats to each one of the side panels: “.318 career batting average, 207 Home Runs, 2,304 Hits, 414 Doubles” and “10 All-Star Games, 1993 All-Star Game MVP, 1991 ALCS MVP” as well as “1989 Batting Champ, 5 Seasons/200+ Hits, 6 Gold Gloves” and finally “1,783 Games, 7,244 At Bats, 1,071 Runs, 1,085 RBI.” This wonderful reminder of what a fantastic player Kirby Puckett was comes with PSA/DNA COA #K34139.
