On September 4, 2013 Mariano Rivera was called on to protect a 6-5 Yankees lead over the Chicago White Sox with two outs in the top of the eighth inning and in typical “Sandman” fashion Rivera pitched 1.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout and retired all four of the batters he faced, recording his 41st save of the season and his final save at Yankee Stadium. Rivera signed this MLB Authentic (#EK 800672) Rawlings Official Bud Selig Major League ball, used that day, in blue ballpoint pen on the sweet spot with a “Save 649” and “Last Save at Home” inscription in his perfect penmanship. Rubbed down ball shows good game use with some dirt stains and smudging and comes with Steiner Sports Memorabilia COA.
