As one of the greatest, and most charismatic, heavyweight boxers in history, Jack Dempsey was always toast of the town in New York City. Whether holding an audience at Toots Shor or roaming the city streets, Dempsey likely always needed extra spending cash. That is why he cashed his own check at “The First National City Bank” of New York. The 2.75 x 6.25 inch check has “Jack DEMPSEY” pre-printed at the top, is dated “Nov. 30, 1970” drawn to “Cash” in the amount of “$100.00” and signed “Jack Dempsey” on the appropriate line. The reverse also contains his “Jack Dempsey” signature as endorser. The multiple stamped cancellations do not affect either signature. All writing is in Dempsey’s own hand and is in blue ballpoint ink. PSA/DNA encapsulated as AUTHENTIC.
