After the New York Yankees won the 1996 World Series, they still were not a complete team, and still needed a quality leadoff batter, which was evident when they lost in the 1999 post season to the Cleveland Indians. Prior to the 1998 season, the Yankees traded for second baseman/leadoff hitter Chuck Knoblauch. Despite all his issues in New York, Chuck Knoblauch was a key component to three New York Yankee World Series championships. Based upon manufacturers ordering records during the referenced labeling period, this 34-3/8 inch, 32.7 ounce bat was used by Chuck Knoblauch during the 1999 season. This Louisville Slugger T141 signature model bat exhibits evidence of heavy use with a handle crack, and numerous ball marks and stitch impressions, with a few blue ink transfers. Along the barrel are cleat marks, with a heavy dose of pine tar on the upper handle and center brand. His number “11” is written in the knob and barrel in black marker, while the sweet spot contains a silver Sharpie “Chuck Knoblauch #11” signature.
