This game was played on June 12, 1939 to commemorate baseballs Centennial Celebration, with induction ceremony and pitted the (Honus) Wagner’s versus the (Eddie) Collins’, with the two Hall of Fame infielders being honorary managers for the first Hall of Fame game. The mostly blue inked stub features images of Abner Doubleday and the new Hall of Fame building, with “CAVALCADE OF BASEBALL” at the top with the date of “June 12, 1939.” We are sure a good time was had by all. The stub contains a moderate vertical crease through the entire ticket, and has been rudely torn along the perforation, removing a large portion of the left edge. Still, the ticket displays all the pre-printed information, and is a reminder of the long time great who set the foundation for the great game of baseball. Good to Very Good overall condition.
