Before he was a three-time National League Most Valuable Player, 1980 World Series Champion and MVP, and 10-time Gold Glove winner at third base, Mike Schmidt was a collegiate All American shortstop playing for Ohio University. This ring is NOT a salesman sample or any other secondary type item. This is the ring sponsor Coca-Cola presented to Schmidt as a member of that 1970 All America baseball team. The size 8.5/15 gram ring has a red stone on top, with “1970 ALL AMERICAN” around the perimeter. One shank has the “Coca-Cola” insignia, with a crossed-bat on a diamond baseball motif. The inside has “BALFOUR 10K” stamped with “MS” engraved initials. The ring exhibits moderate use war with the band experiencing multiple scratches. Schmidt wore this ring proudly for many years, until of course; he likely replaced it on his finger with the 1980 World Series ring. This is a great personally owned Mike Schmidt ring. This ring was personally owned by Schmidt and derives from the personal collection of the Hall of Famer. Notarized LOA from Mike Schmidt.
