This unique baseball brings together two of the most controversial owners in baseball history: George Steinbrenner of the Yankees and Charlie O. Finley of the A's. Steinbrenner was the shipbuilder-turned baseball executive who brought both championships and headaches to the Bronx faithful. Starting in 1960 Finley took a failing A's franchise and turned it into a pennant winning machine built with a crop of home-grown talent like Reggie Jackson and Vida Blue. Off the field, Finley's abrasive personality and tight fisted ways became as legendary as his early 70's dynasty was on the field. This Bobby Brown Official American League Baseball has been signed by both men in blue ball point; Finley on the sweet spot and Steinbrenner on the panel below. PSA/DNA sticker V13053 is affixed to the ball. In a game where owners and executives tended to be shadowy men in hidden offices deep within the bowels of their respective ball parks; both men on this unique ball made a mark on the game as indelible as Ruth, Gehrig and Cobb. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
