Offered is an extremely rare oversized photo of Derek Jeter playing his position in the old Yankee Stadium. This is one of the first Jeter - Steiner Sports signed items which were offered by the memorabilia company. While it is extremely rare to find this photo signed by Jeter, there are several factors which make this signed Jeter image very appealing. First, it is an oversize 30 x 40 inches, and was one of the few of the oversized items actually signed by Jeter and sold at the time by Steiner. Most were of the standard 8 x 10 inch and 16 x 20 inch varieties. Second, Jeter has signed and inscribed this image boldly in blue Sharpie "Derek Jeter 2000 AS MVP and 2000 WS MVP." Jeter is the only player to be so recognized as the MVP of both the All Star game and World Series in the same season, and there are not many of these inscribed images available. In this image Jeter is seen fielding a ball to his right, turning to begin a 6-4-3 double play. The very famous large yellow KODAK advertisement, which was part of the left field wall for years, is seen in the background. Plaque below reads "Derek Jeter #2 New York Yankees." As mentioned, very few of these oversized 30 x 40 inch Jeter signed photos were made available, and is one of the earliest Jeter - Steiner signed items to be distributed. Our consignor bought this item when it was first issued, going through a colleague of Steiner Sports and one of their first retail clients. With the factors surrounding this item, including the size of the piece and the rare inscription, this almost one of a kind Jeter display piece would be the highlight of any Yankee or Jeter collection. Due to its size and image, this item is a virtual eye catcher and conversation piece. Nicely framed to a dimension of 35 x 43 inches. Steiner Sports hologram.
