Although generations of fans will always remember Ray Bolger as the Scarecrow in 1939's "The Wizard of Oz", the actor had a long stage and cinema career both before and after his iconic role. The Standard Contract from the Actors Equity Association is dated February 19th, 1936 and binds Bolger to the production of "On Your Toes" through March of 1937. The 8 1/2" x 17" folded 4 sided contract is signed at the bottom of the front page in bold black fountain pen. An onion skin typed page has been affixed inside with hand written fountain pen inscription regarding details of Bolger's traveling arrangements. As a working document the contract shows good wear with some raggedness to the edges and numbers horizontal folds - none of which effects Bolger's signature. A wonderful signed piece from the man who portrayed one of Hollywood's most memorable characters. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
