After rocketing to stardom in the late 1930's, Judy Garland suffered a much publicized nervous breakdown in 1947. She made a film comeback in the 1950's followed by a turn towards concert performances. In 1961 she did a series of wildly successful Carnegie Hall performances followed by a 2-record live album that went gold. In the wake of this new-found success Garland did select performances in similar venues. This 4 page typed contract on onion skin hammers out the details for her September 13th, 1961 performance at San Francisco Auditorium. Besides the money arrangements the document is interesting in the small details Ms. Garland required: 10 pairs of tickets, 2 microphones with removable heads, 5 extra music stands - unbelievably modest when compared to today's star demands! The contract also allows Garland to sell her hit record album at the venue. Garland has signed the last page in bright blue ball point and has added her initials beside 3 amendments to the text throughout the contract. The document shows some corner wear but does not affect Garland's signature. A great signed document from Garland's performing heyday. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
