In the 1970's and early 80's collectors and fans could order jerseys almost identical to the ones worn on the field by their favorite players. Instead of the modern Mitchell and Ness relics, these 4 Red Sox jerseys were ordered from Wilson and McAuliffe during that time period and are almost exactly like the game issued versions except the tagging is slightly different. Two of the most popular Red Sox styles are represented - the v-neck 1975 and 1978 versions and 2 of the 1983 button down versions. Each one is outfitted like Yaz's home jerseys with his number "8" on the back. The 1975 V-neck has the Massachusetts Bicentennial patch on the left sleeve and has been signed once on the front and again on the back. The 1978 home jersey has also been signed on both the front and back. Both are a size 42 and have McAuliffe tagging. Some yellowing due to their age is present on both. The other 2 are 1983 versions and carry the Wilson tagging. The size 42 version is signed on the front placket and shows light aging. The size 44 version is signed in the collar which has faded with age. The jersey exhibits yellowing due to age and wear. While not game used, these signed Yaz jerseys are much more interesting than modern reproductions and display wonderfully. This lot has been Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
