Helping highlight a class of baseball greats for nearly 40 years from 1907 to 1945, Tris Speaker and Jimmie Foxx each distinctively made their marks on America’s Pastime during what turned in to Hall of Fame careers for both. Speaker, a three-time World Series champion with Boston and Cleveland (1912, 1915, 1920), revolutionized the center field position thanks to his remarkable defensive play and potent bat. In the mid-1920's, Foxx began his journey as one of baseball’s most revered power hitters. The winner of two World Series titles (1929-30) with the Philadelphia Athletics, Foxx would become the second player in league history to hit 500 career home runs. This weathered, browning OAL baseball with red and blue stitched seams, dates to 1927-31 due to its distinctive markings and clearly features the signatures of both icons, along with several others who are unidentifiable thanks to the historical ball’s condition. Speaker’s signature appears in black ink on the ball’s sweet spot, while Foxx’s signature appears prominently in black ink in the center of the piece’s manufacturer stampings. This multi-signed baseball comes with JSA certification.
