A 15-time All-Star most recognized for his astounding eight National League batting titles, the late Tony Gwynn will forever be remembered as one of the greatest hitters to ever set foot inside the batter’s box. Gwynn, a 2007 Hall of Fame inductee, signed this game-used, button-down Padres jersey from the 1998 season in bold, silver sharpie along the “1” on the back of his “19” jersey, which has since been retired by the San Diego franchise. “PADRES” appears across the chest with Gwynn’s number “19” on the back in navy blue on white-and-orange tackle twill. “GWYNN” appears across the back of the jersey in navy blue tackle twill. The left sleeve of the jersey boasts a San Diego Padres Baseball Club patch, while the front tail has a Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag, size 50. The signed, game-used jersey includes a COA signed by Alicia Gwynn, Tony’s wife, in addition to a LOA from noted jersey expert Dave Miedema.
