This bat was used prior to Sept 5th and broken on Sept 5. Representing one of only 6 career Walk off Home Runs, and the only one we are aware of that ever came up for public sale, this certainly is one of the most significant Cabrera bats to ever be offered for sale.
The Tiger star won the AL batting title with a .344 average and led the league in on-base percentage and doubles. It was his eighth straight 100 RBIs season and the fifth straight season he posted 30 home runs. The Original Maple Bat Co. MC1 bat shows heavy use and the handle has been broken in two pieces and secured with tape. Many ball marks with stitch imprints, blue ink transfers and white leather ball scuffs cover the bat's barrel. A heavy coat of Mota Stick is evident on the handle. The bat's length "34", weight "32", date of manufacture "8 8 11", model "MC1" and order number "1790" are written on the barrel end in black ink. Cabrera's number "24" and the Tigers' weight code "11" are written on both the knob and barrel end in black marker. Letter of Authenticity FJ268427 from MLB and 1B08927 from PSA/DNA.
