Heralded in the City of Brotherly Love as “The Cardiac Kids,” the 1980 Philadelphia Phillies ended a near 100-year championship drought for the franchise by landing a World Series title that season after defeating the Royals 4-2 in a best-of-7 series. Heroes like Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton and Tug McGraw helped the franchise to that first-ever crown, and they, along with 29 others from that famed squad, have signed this Louisville Slugger bat in bold, blue sharpie. The barrel of the bat boasts a “1980 WORLD CHAMPIONS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES” emblem etched into the wood. Signatures appearing on the bat include Schmidt, Carlton, McGraw, Manny Trillo, Garry Maddox, Pete Rose, Del Unser, Ron Reed, Greg Luzinski, Randy Lerch, Bob Boone, Marty Bystrom, Dallas Green, George Vukovich, Dick Ruthven, Larry Christenson, Dickie Noles, Warren Brusstar, Mike Ryan, Ramon Aviles, Lee Elia, Greg Gross, Bobby Wine, Lonnie Smith, Larry Bowa, Bob Walk, Bake McBride, Herm Starrette, John Vukovich, Kevin Saucier, Keith Moreland and one other. The team-signed bat comes with PSA/DNA certification, verification number “V13062.”
