The former Michigan Wolverine moved south from Ann Arbor and played 19 seasons for the Detroit Tigers (1924 - 1942), winning the AL MVP in 1937, the same season he won the AL batting title. Gehringer appeared in six All-Star games and compiled a lifetime .320 batting average. He was elected into the Hall of Fame in 1949. The barrel of this pristine, 35-inch, thick-handled Model 125 Hillerich & Bradsby Co. Louisville "Slugger" has been engraved with "GENUINE/Chas. Gehringer/ LOUISVILLE SLUGGER" Gehringer boldly signed in vivid black Sharpie under the barrel header and added "HOF 49". This item comes with a JSA sticker only (C25285).
