The Ivy League educated actor leaped to instant fame with his 1978 portrayal of "Superman", quickly followed by "Somewhere in Time", both major blockbusters as well as cult classics. By the 1990's Reeve began to concentrate on sailing, environmental issues and horseback riding. The later pursuit attributed to his early death when he was thrown from his mount in 1995 and paralyzed from the neck down. He died of complications at the age of 52 in 2004. Due to his early death and voluntary retreat from movies in the '90's, Reeve's signature is highly sought after and this is a real beautiful example.
