Founded in 1967, the American Basketball Association competed directly with the NBA until the leagues merged in 1976. This referee game worn shirt and matching jacket were used for the 1975-76 season by Ron Zetcher. The Size M Rawlings & Gerry Cosby Athletic Outfitters & Co. red and white striped pullover jersey has the “ABA Basketball” logo on the upper left chest and features a partial pull-down zipper from the collar. The collar and sleeves are in blue fabric and Zetcher’s number “20” is stitched on the back in red, white and blue tackle-twill box. The matching red pullover jacket is a Size 42 and was also manufactured by Gerry Cosby Athletic Outfitters & Co. The 100% nylon jacket features include snap-buttons, an “ABA Basketball” logo and tapered sleeves and waist in blue/white/red stripes. Zetcher’s name is stitched vertically in blue on the inside of the snap-buttons. These items come with a Letter of Authenticity from noted game jersey expert Dave Miedema.
