Few players in NFL history have displayed the grace and explosiveness of the running back simply known as “Sweetness,” a nickname fully understood by those fortunate enough to have watched him in action. Payton was selected to the Pro Bowl nine times in his 13 year career and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. These size 8 cleats were worn by the man himself, and show the wear and tear of the rigors of pro football, with the right toe in particular showing black discoloration, possibly from a toe guard. The white, KangaRoos brand low-tops have black rubberized soles and are closer to turf shoes than traditional cleats. And as an added bonus at no extra charge, each shoe is caked solid with turf and grass! The name “Sweetness” is manufactured into the heel of the shoes, and each is signed and numbered in black marker. Note – while this item does have MEARS authentication as Game Used and notes that the writing on the heels “appears to be authentic,” PSA was unable to authenticate the signatures.
