Although sometimes referred to as the "Motor City Cobra," the name Thomas Hearns is hard to say without including his more famous nickname, “The Hitman.” Hearns was the first boxer in history to win world titles in four divisions and also became the first fighter in history to win five world titles in five different divisions. In 1985, while reigning as the super-welterweight champion, Hearns moved up into the middleweight division to challenge undisputed champion Marvin Hagler. Though billed as "The Fight," the bout later became known as “The War” and is often considered the greatest three round fight in boxing history. As one of boxing’s elites, Hearns was named fighter of the year by The Ring magazine in 1980 and 1984.

Offered here is a replica International Boxing Federation (IBF) World Championship belt signed by Hearns. The belt features a red background and ornate IBF logo with interlocking circles in the center. The overlapping velcro portion of the belt where it adheres also sports the International Boxing Federation logo. Hearns has signed the belt “Thomas Hitman Hearns” on one side and “HOF 2012” on the other. The white signature contrasts well with the red background and has been authenticated by PSA/DNA. (#6A34847).
