Catcher Gary Carter was the first top-tier star of the Expos franchise. His infectious smile and unbridled love of the game resulted in his being nicknamed "The Kid" by Montreal fans. More than twenty years after he began his career in Montreal, Carter returned to the Expos for his final season. His curly blond hair now graying, his enthusiasm for the game was still so strong that the 38 year-old veteran was still called "The Kid". This bat was used by Carter during that final season in Montreal as he put the cap on a career that would see him as the only Expo voted into the Hall of Fame. Carter's Louisville Slugger C243 model bat shows heavy use and is un-cracked. The Hall of Famer has signed the bat's barrel in black adding "All the very best God bless you". Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA who have graded this great gamer GU 9.
