Throughout his career, Derek Jeter remained remarkably consistent in not only his on-field performance but also in his choice of bats. This black P72 on the surface resembles the type of bat The Captain used throughout his 20 year career, however a small detail - or lack there of - shows that this is one of the earliest game used Jeter bats on the market. The absence of a stamped "NEW YORK YANKEES" on the barrel reveals that this bat was ordered prior to Jeter's first appearance in the Major Leagues! The Louisville Slugger P72 shows excellent use with a handle crack. Several ball marks with stitch impressions can be seen as well as white leather ball scuffs. Cleat marks are visible on the barrel along with the imprint from a batting donut. Green bat rack paint streaks are seen on the barrel and a light coat of Mota Stick remains on the handle. In short, this bat has all the bells and whistles you want on an early Derek Jeter game used bat. Letter of Authenticity 1B01033 from PSA/DNA.
