A pitcher has to be pretty good for quite some time to rack up 303 victories and win five Cy Young Awards but on May 18, 2004 Randy the “Big Unit” Johnson was better than good, he was perfect, becoming just the 17th pitcher in major league history to set down 27 straight batters and at 40, the oldest pitcher to throw a perfect game. Johnson struck out 13 Atlanta Braves in the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-0 victory that day and signed this MLB Authentic (MR546235) Rawlings Official Alan H. Selig Major League Baseball on its sweet spot (grade 10) in blue ball point ink with a “#51” and “Used During Perfect game 5/18/2004” inscriptions. Rubbed-down ball shows moderate game use but does not appear to have been batted around much; comes with JSA LOA and certification #Y20467.
