After nine long months on the DL, Derek Jeter put on this batting helmet and faced the Kansas City Royals. As he stood in the box, Yankee fans wondered whether or not The Captain would be the same after the broken ankle he suffered in the '12 ALCS. On the first pitch Jeter quickly restored every fan's hopes when he socked a single in his first at bat. He later scored as New York beat the Royals 8-4. The helmet shows light game use with a few scuffs and some mud splashes. The famous intertwined "NY" logo is on the front in raised letters and Jeter's number "2" sticker is affixed on the top of the brim and on the back of the helmet. Steiner hologram 194097 and MLB hologram EK 689651 are affixed to the back of the helmet above the MLB logo sticker. The inside shows light use with all the padding present and complete. Rawlings label is affixed as is the MLB tag. The Captain has signed the helmet's brim in silver pen adding "13 Game Used. Letter of Authenticity from Yankees-Steiner Collectibles.
