Downing carved out a nice 20-year career with the White Sox, Angels and Rangers. This rare model bat dates from his 1976 season where the catcher hit .256 as the Sox’s starting backstop. The Hillerich & Bradsby Model D164XL bat is un-cracked and displays moderate use. The bat features the 1976-only Bicentennial Liberty Bell logo stamped into the barrel between the center brand and endorsement. A great example of a scarce single-season model bat.
