Making its third straight Rose Bowl appearance, the No. 7 ranked USC Trojans stomped the Illinois Fighting Illini 49-17 on January 1, 2008 in the team’s second of three straight Rose Bowl victories. This 2008 Rose Bowl championship ring was presented to redshirt freshman Martin Coleman who suffered a sprained ankle prior to USC’s second game on the schedule and did not play for the rest of the season.

Size-14, non-gold, non-diamond, player ring weighs 45.06 grams and has USC in raised letters across a bed of rhinestones. “Rose Bowl” and “Champions” are engraved across the top and bottom ends of the ring with three rose colored jewels along each side. Coleman’s name is engraved on one shank above a “6 Straight” banner and a circle of years; “2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007” around a Pac 10 logo and Coleman’s number 72. “Own The Rose Bowl” is engraved on the other shank with the Rose Bowl logo being incorporated into the slogan and SC49 I 17 Back to Back above two football shaped trophies and 2008 on the other side. “54 Trojans Forever #9” and “Balfour Cel” are engraved on the inside; comes with copies of Citibank check used to purchase the ring(s) and copy statement of release signed by Coleman.
