Hitting .288 with 37 homers and 105 RBI, Stanton looked like he was a serious contender for the NL MVP Award. Then, on September 11, 2014 the slugger was drilled by a wild pitch and spent the rest of the season recovering from massive damage to his face. He still managed to bring home the Silver Slugger Award and the National League Home Rn Championship. Stanton's Marucci G27 model bat shows excellent use with several ball marks with stitch impressions and blue ink transfers with white leather ball scuffs. There are cleat marks on the barrel and a light coat of Mota Stick is present on the mid handle. The date of manufacture "06/27/14", Stanton's number "27", length "4" and weight "1.4" are stamped into the knob end. Letter of Authenticity 1B09012 from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 8.5.
