The aptly nicknamed “Millville Meteor” Mike Trout’s meteoric rise through the minor leagues began when he was just 17. That included stops in Arizona with the L.A. Angels rookie league team, single-A ball in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Rancho Cucamonga, California and double-A with the Arkansas Travelers; where he wore this very well-traveled looking cap. Trout hit .326 with 11 home runs, 18 doubles, 13 triples, 38 RBI and 33 stolen bases in 92 games with Arkansas. This battered and bruised hat is exemplary of Trout’s all-out hustle and intensity, as if he was literally bursting at the seams to get to the next level. The cities and towns that encompass the Texas League can get hot in the baseball summer and the top and underside of the cap’s brim are drenched in salty sweat stains. Trout’s name and number 23 are written in white sharpie on the underside of the bill, but are almost covered in the salty white residue. The interior headband is coming apart from the hat, but still contains its Minor League Baseball and New ERA size medium-large tags. The 39Thirty model hat is made of a soft mesh fabric and has an elastic headband. The Arkansas Travelers man on a horse logo is on the cap’s crown and Trout signed the top of the bill in white sharpie with a “2011 used” inscription; comes with Anderson Authentics LOA signed by Trout.
