The Big Hurt swung this bat during the 1999 season. One of the most feared batters of the 1990’s, Thomas routinely warmed up in the on-deck circle by swinging a rusty piece of rebar from the old Comiskey Park. The Rawlings 576B model bat shows moderate use with a slight crack in the handle. Several ball marks and stitch impressions can be seen on the barrel, along with blue ink transfers and white leather ball scuffs. Cleat imprints and the impression of a batting donut are found along the barrel. Pine tar coats the upper handle. The model number “576B”, order number “177” and year “99” are stamped into the knob end. Best of all, the Big Hurt has signed the barrel of this textbook gamer in silver ink. Letter of Authenticity 1B09014 from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 8.
