Joe Girardi’s first season in the Bronx was in 1996 when the catcher appeared in 124 games and hit .294 as the Yankees won their first World Series title in 18 years. Girardi wore these LG21W – PRO navy blue shin guards during that season. These hard plastic guards measure 25 inches long and have white side guards along the outside of each leg. The Yankees logo is at the base of white side guard on one leg with circled navy blue star with “ALL-STAR” in white on the other leg. These shin guards show extensive use and Girardi signed his name in black marker on each pad along the white seam that separates the knee pad and the shins. This item comes with a certificate of authentication from the New York Yankees.
