This MLB Authenticated (#GT00037623) Schutt Hollywood bases, base was placed at second base during batting practice prior to Game two of the 2001 World Series between the New York Yankees and Arizona Diamondbacks on October 28, 2001. The Yankees got mowed down that night by World Series co-MVP Randy Johnson who surrendered only three hits with 11 strikeouts in a complete game shutout. Colorful, action-packed blue, yellow, red and green MLB 2001 World Series logo is printed on top of the base with alternating New York Yankees, Arizona Diamondbacks and MLB logo nameplates inlaid along all four sides. Jeter signed the base in bold black sharpie across the top with a “2000 AS WS MVP” inscription in reference to winning the previous year’s MVP awards in the All-Star Game and World Series. The base is also labeled on its underside with “WS Game 2 Set A 3B," with “WS GM 2 NYY vs. AZ Bank 1 Ball PK Phoenix AZ” in blue sharpie on the opposite corner and comes with Steiner Sports Memorabilia COA.
