The third and most successful Wings album, 1973’s Band on the Run, is also the most popular of Paul McCartney’s post Beatles efforts and the last album issued on the Apple label. The top-selling studio album in the United Kingdom and Australia in 1974, in addition to the title track “Band on the Run,” included the hit singles, “Jet” and “Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five,” and “Helen Wheels” which was released exclusively on the American version. The album reached number one in the U.S. on three separate occasions and went triple platinum, selling more than 3 million units.
This 5” x 7” white paper card with purple and black lettering reads: “Thanks for your help in making our album Band on the Run #1 (in black) Billboard, Cash Box and Record World,” and is signed by Paul and Linda in red ball point ink; comes with JSA/LOA certification #X94640.
