The kind of guy you think should be President of the United States; Dwight David Eisenhower was a five-star general in the United States Army during World War II, served as Army Chief of Staff under President Harry S. Truman and was also the President of Columbia University. A moderate conservative with across the aisle appeal, Eisenhower defeated Democratic candidate Adlai Stevenson by a landslide in the 1952 presidential election. Once in office he invoked executive privilege to bring an end to McCarthyism, expanded social security and launched the Interstate Highway System and created the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Eisenhower was responsible for sending federal troops to Little Rock Arkansas to enforce federal court orders to desegregate schools, signed civil rights legislation to ensure the right to vote, desegregated the armed forces and presided. The first limited-term president since the implementation of the 22nd Amendment, Eisenhower presided over one of the most peaceful and prosperous periods of American history and is considered by many to be one of the greatest U.S. Presidents. This 6”x 9” page from West Point Society of New York Illustrious Graduates Dinner at the Hotel Americana in Manhattan on Thursday November 2, 1967, is signed by Eisenhower in blue ball point ink; comes with JSA LOA certification #X79142
